As the core equipment of thermoplastic melt marking construction, thermoplastic melting kettle plays a crucial role. In the marking operation, it is responsible for heating and mixing the powder paint to liquid state, and then conveying the liquid paint to the road marking machine for precise marking construction. Given that the molten state of the paint is directly related to the quality of road marking paint, it is particularly important to evaluate the mixing performance of the thermoplastic melting kettle.
The following are ways to judge the mixing effect of thermoplastic melting kettle from multiple dimensions:
Observe paint uniformity:
In the mixing process, you need to pay close attention to the color and texture of the paint in the kettle is evenly distributed. If the color of the paint is consistent, without significant color difference, lumps, streaks, spots or layering, it means that the mixing effect is good.
For example, if the paint is yellow, make sure the color is uniform throughout the kettle to avoid local color shades.
Check for stirring dead spots:
Carefully inspect all corners of the kettle to confirm that there are no areas where paint is building up or not being stirred.
An efficient mixing design should ensure that the paint is distributed throughout the kettle without missing any areas.
Verify Viscosity Consistency:
Observe that the viscosity of the coating is consistent throughout the stirred batch.
Paint should flow smoothly from the kettle into the road marking machine without blockage or sticking.
Check settling:
Heavier pigments or additives should remain in stable suspension during mixing to avoid depositing on the bottom.
After stopping mixing, check the bottom of the kettle for deposits, deposits indicate insufficient mixing speed or poor paddle design.
Evaluate mixing speed and strength:
Understand and record the stirring speed parameters of the equipment, and observe the rotation speed and strength of the stirring paddle in actual operation.
The paddle should be able to effectively scrape the kettle wall and bottom to prevent paint buildup.
Stirring performance can be further evaluated by observing the amplitude and sound of the stirring paddle and checking for residue on the kettle wall.
Sampling:
Paint samples are taken from different locations in the kettle and analyzed in the laboratory to test the uniformity of composition and consistency of physical properties.
By testing the viscosity, density and other indicators of the coating, if the results of each sample are similar, it indicates that the mixing effect is ideal.
In practice, if the paint samples taken from different depths and positions in the thermoplastic melting kettle, its viscosity and composition analysis results are not far apart, and there is no obvious stirring blind spot in the kettle, while the stirring process is smooth and powerful, no abnormal noise, then it can be concluded that the stirring performance of the thermoplastic melting kettle is excellent.
